DIY Face Mask For Dry Skin.

In this post, we are going to look at how to prepare face mask for dry skin at home and how to apply them on your face. Dry skin can make you look older; this is because there is no sebum on the skin surface and if left unchecked can lead to skin itchy and other complicated skin condition like dandruff.

Face mask for dry skin is simple to produce and easier to use, the natural ingredients can be easily sourced in the market; some of the ingredients used are wasting away in your kitchen cabinet. The face mask is filled with nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidant that nourish your skin to enhance and improve your beauty. One of the main disadvantages of using a face mask on your skin is because some of the ingredients are sensitive to the skin and can cause swelling and redness if use on your skin.

Before using this face mask on your face, please test the face mask on a small patch of skin, if there is any swelling or redness on the small patch of skin, please do not use the face mask your face, you can try another homemade facemask.

Egg white, Avocado, and Honey Face Mask
This face mask is good for dry skin. It is rich in moisturizing and hydrating properties which makes your skin smooth and soften; It also helps to fade scar and dark spot from the face which is formed due to the tissue damage caused by acne inflammation and over secretion of melanin in the body
Ingredient

  • 1 egg white 
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey
  • ¼ avocado

Directions

  • In a clean bowl, use a knife to crack the shell of the egg, separate the yolk from the egg white and beat the egg white until it turns frosty.
  • Mash the avocado fruit and add the mashed fruit and honey to the bowl, use spoon to mix the mixture together, the resulting mixture you get is your face mask. 
  • Clean your face with warm water and pat it dry with a soft towel.
  • Apply the facemask on your skin and leave it on your face for about 15 minutes.
  • Washing the face mask off from your face with cold water and pat your face dry with a soft towel.
  • You can repeat his process once or twice a week and you can stop when your face soften.

Aloe Vera Gel and Yogurt Face Mask
This face mask can be used for any type of skin especially people with dry skin, acne-prone skin, and oily skin. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, enzyme, and antioxidants which help to moisturize your face and improve your beauty. Yogurt contains alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) which helps to exfoliate the skin by removing the dead skin cell from the body.

  • Add aloe vera gel and plain yogurt in a clean bowl.
  • Mix them together with a spoon until it forms a smooth paste. 
  • Wash your face with clean water and pat it dry with a soft towel.
  • Apply the mixture to your face and use your fingertips to gently massage the mixture on your face.
  • Leave the face mask on for 15 minutes and wash it off with water.
  • Pat your face dry with a soft towel; you can repeat this process every day until your face is well moisturized.

Banana, Yogurt, and Orange Juice Face Mask
This face mask contains moisture which helps to keep your face well moisturize, The use of this face mask is not limited for dry skin alone but you can use it to slow down the aging process of the skin caused by free radicals in the body.
Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon of yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of orange juice 

Directions

  • Mash a ripe banana with a spoon till it forms a thick and smooth pulp; make sure that there is no lump inside the pulp. 
  • Add yogurt and orange juice to the pulp and stir it together with a spoon until it forms a thick paste. If the face mask is too thick you can add more orange juice or rosewater to the face mask.
  • Wash your face with water and pat it dry with a soft towel.
  • Apply the face mask to your face using your hand and gently massage the paste into your skin so that they recipe would enter the skin pores. 
  • Leave the face mask on for 15 to 20 minutes and washing it off with cold water. 
  • Pat it to dry using a soft towel and apply a face moisturizer immediately. 

Avocado Oil and Jojoba Oil Face Mask
Jojoba oil resembles sebum which when used on the skin or hair trick the body to absorb the oil. The oil has no side effect at all and you can use it with other essential oil to improve its potency.

  • Mix one teaspoon of jojoba oil and one teaspoon of avocado oil in a bowl and stir it together.
  • Wash your face with water and pat it dry using a soft towel.
  • Apply the face mask to your face using a swab of a cotton ball.
  • Allow the face mask for about 10 – 15 minutes and wash it off with water and pat your face dry with a soft towel.

Watermelon, Gram flour, and Honey Face Mask
Watermelon is made up of 93% of water and can be used to keep dry skin hydrated and well moisturized. This face mask is rich in antimicrobial properties which kills microbes from our skin. It also helps in the synthesis of collagen and promotes skin cell regeneration of old worn out skin cell leaving you with a softer and radiant skin.

  • Wash a medium size watermelon and cut it into a different part.
  • Remove the seed from the fruits, you can store them if you want or discard them. 
  • Cut the red fresh part and blend it together until it turns into a smooth juice.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of gram flour or besan and ½ teaspoon of raw honey to the juice and stir it together.
  • Wash your face with water and pat it dry using a soft towel.
  • Apply the face mask to your face and use your finger to gently massage the face mask on your face.
  • Leave the face mask on for 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water.
  • Pat your skin dry with a soft towel.
